To ensure a consistently high removal rate: closely coated grain with a synthetic resin bond

A high removal rate during sanding on wood and metal is guaranteed by a premium grain that has been applied with a close coating. The close coating provides for a nearly complete coverage with abrasive grain. A close coating also allows for high stock removal during work on metal. Just as on all other abrasives made by Klingspor, the top binding, also referred to as the size coat, is made of synthetic resin. This material is more stable than natural bonding agents and is furthermore distinguished by greater adhesive force. This is why synthetic resin provides for improved grit adhesion, thereby preventing premature grain shedding. The top binding on all Klingspor abrasives has a uniform thickness. The consistency in thickness is made possible by continuous laser measurements and regular weight measurements as means to monitor the production process of the size coat and the grain quantity.

Robust and tear-resistant: the backing made of Y-polyester

The backing material used for the wide belt CS 308 Y by Klingspor is tear-resistant polyester. It is robust and makes this abrasive belt also an excellent option for applications that subject it to tremendous strain. Thanks to its tear-resistant cloth backing it can, for instance, be used for rough stock removal grinding. What is more, this abrasive belt is also resistant to moisture. Suitable for universal use, the wide belt CS 308 Y engineered by Klingspor has established itself as a staple in trade and industry.
